How to Rock Pretty, Printed Shorts

It’s time to trade in those cold-weather layers for a more comfortable and pool-friendly getup. Bring on the bright colors and prints! Long live Daisy Dukes! Let’s be honest: When the temperature soars, our hemlines tend to go with it. It’s summertime and the living’s easy, after all.

This season, I’m trading my every day cutoffs for a more fun printed style. These vibrant new shorts are the definition of versatile. And I love that they’re beach-to-the-streets friendly—considering most have an extremely comfortable elastic waistband. Did someone say elastic? Now that, my friends, is the definition of comfort. You’re probably thinking, “I like the idea of printed shorts, but how the heck do I wear them?” We’re getting there.

Like I said, printed shorts make a great cover-up as well as every day look. The outfit options are endless. You can pair them with a solid top like the black leather peplum I’m wearing here, an oversized white bohemian top for the beach, or (if you’re feeling daring) mix a print! Stripes are always a great option to pair with a printed short.

If you’re headed to a party, I suggest adding a great peplum top. To jazz up the solid color and add some texture, belt it girl! Never be afraid to belt it. You could even throw on a fitted white tee and add a statement necklace! It’s all in the accessories when it comes to prints. Most importantly, have fun with your look. That’s what summer’s all about!
